Woman Accuses Five Former World Junior Players in Hockey Canada Assault Trial

NHL News

The woman who has brought accusations of sexual assault against five individuals from Canada`s 2018 world junior hockey team provided her testimony in court on Monday, according to the Associated Press. She stated that Michael McLeod, Carter Hart, Alex Formenton, Dillon Dube, and Cal Foote committed unwanted sexual acts upon her at a hotel located in London, Ontario.

Based on her account, she went to McLeod`s hotel room following a celebration gala for Team Canada`s world junior championship win. She testified that she and McLeod engaged in sexual intercourse, after which two additional men arrived shortly. While she was using the bathroom, two more men appeared.

The woman alleges that the five men compelled her to lie on a bedsheet while they discussed sexual acts they wanted her to perform for them. She claims the men also pulled down their pants requesting oral sex, and one of them performed a split over her face.

“It felt humiliating,” she reportedly said, as per the AP. “To them, it was clearly just a joke.”

According to her testimony, when she entered the bathroom, one of the men followed her and had sex with her after putting on a condom.

The woman claimed she attempted to leave multiple times but was convinced by the men to remain on each occasion. She also mentioned that she was uncertain how the men might react if she refused them.

“My mind just completely shut down,” the woman stated.

All five men are facing charges of sexual assault. McLeod is also charged with being a party to sexual assault. McLeod, Hart, Dube, and Foote were all active players on NHL rosters when these charges were filed.
