After a year’s break, Scottie Scheffler, a two-time Masters winner, is once again in charge of creating the menu for the Masters Club dinner for champions.
This dinner tradition started in 1952 thanks to Ben Hogan, who wanted to gather past winners. It’s an exclusive event for Masters champions, with the club chairman, Fred Ridley, attending as a special guest.
Scheffler, who secured his second green jacket last year with a final round of 68, finishing at 11 under par and defeating Ludvig Åberg by four strokes, has designed a menu that truly reflects his Texas roots.
The dinner will begin with an appetizer selection featuring cheeseburger sliders, firecracker shrimp, and meatball and ravioli bites. Guests will then enjoy Texas-style chili, followed by a choice of cowboy ribeye or blackened redfish for the main course.
For dessert, a tempting warm chocolate chip skillet cookie with vanilla bean ice cream will be served.
This menu is quite different from the Spanish cuisine chosen by Jon Rahm for the 2024 dinner, which included dishes like gernika peppers, gildas, and lentil stew. However, golf enthusiasts may notice similarities to Scheffler’s menu from 2023.
It seems Scheffler is sticking with what works, raising the question: will tortilla soup be on the menu?
