Spanish tennis legend Rafael Nadal, a 22-time Grand Slam champion, recently shared his perspective on his compatriot and world number three, Carlos Alcaraz.
“We all experienced pressure from the media and the expectations placed upon us, but ultimately, I believe we are human and know how to handle it,” said Nadal. “I don`t think dealing with this pressure will be a major issue for Carlos. He is a great player with a wonderful family behind him.”
Nadal expressed high praise for the young star`s current performance and future potential.
“I think he is doing everything perfectly, and he already has an incredible career. He will win much more if he can avoid injuries – that is the most important thing. I wish him – and truly believe – that he will have one of the best careers in history.”
The comments come shortly after the 21-year-old Alcaraz was forced to withdraw from the Madrid Masters tournament due to an injury.
