World No. 49 Emma Raducanu recently discussed key lessons she`s absorbed over the course of the current season.
Reflecting on her approach, Raducanu stated, “I`ve realized that sometimes, for me personally, less can actually mean more. I invest a significant amount of effort, I always give absolutely everything, and occasionally, I find myself pushing too hard. What`s truly important is maximizing your output for a specific period on court, maintaining complete focus, and then being effective at switching off to ensure proper rest and recovery.”
She also touched upon the common emphasis on practice. “Players are often told they need to practice extensively, and I genuinely agree with that – practice is incredibly beneficial,” she added. “However, there`s a right time and place for every type of work. There are definite moments when taking a break, allowing yourself to recover fully, and clearing your mind are absolutely essential, especially given how long and demanding the tennis season is.”
