Spanish tennis player Paula Badosa, currently ranked world No. 11, has announced her withdrawal from the WTA 1000 tournament in Miami and the WTA 500 tournament in Charleston.
Badosa shared a message on her social media stating: “Hello everyone. I am sadly announcing my withdrawal from the upcoming tournaments, including Miami. I am struggling with persistent pain and the need to stop playing to recover again. I am now facing another phase of rehabilitation. I hope to be back soon. Thank you all for your support!”
A back injury forced Badosa to retire from the Miami WTA 1000 event after her third-round victory over Clara Tauson of Denmark (6-3, 7-6(3)). Consequently, she was unable to compete in the fourth round match against Alexandra Eala of the Philippines.
