Professional golfer Max Homa and Joe Greiner, his caddie and childhood friend of many years, have decided to discontinue their partnership.
At the Valero Texas Open on Thursday, Homa was seen with veteran caddie Bill Harke, who took Greiner`s place.
`Joe and I have created unforgettable memories together, and I am incredibly thankful for his dedication,` Homa stated on Thursday in a communication with PGATour.com.
`Our professional paths are diverging, which is a bittersweet moment. I will always cherish the times we spent together on the golf course with one of my closest friends.`
Homa, aged 34, experienced a rise to prominence in the world of PGA Tour later in his career, securing six victories between 2019 and 2023. He reached a world ranking as high as No. 5 and achieved a third-place tie at the previous year`s Masters. However, his performance has declined in the subsequent year.
Currently ranked No. 78 in the Official World Golf Ranking, Homa has recently missed the cut in four consecutive tournaments. His best result this year has been a tie for 26th place.
The Texas Open is the last tournament before the Masters Tournament the following week, which is the season`s first major championship. Homa`s Texas Open began with a slow start on Thursday, as he recorded a 4-over-par 76 in the opening round.
