Brazilian fighter Jean Silva has firmly stated that despite their bout in April settling a bitter rivalry, he sees no possibility of ever becoming friends with Bryce Mitchell.
While it`s common for competitors to show mutual respect after a fight, Silva draws a clear line. He acknowledges Mitchell`s skills as an athlete but made it clear he does not wish for any personal relationship due to Mitchell`s conduct and demeanor outside the cage.
Silva Explains Why Reconciliation Is Off the Table
The lead-up to their featherweight clash at UFC 314 was particularly tense, fueled by Mitchell`s prior actions. However, the fight itself was heavily one-sided, with Silva dominating and ultimately securing a submission victory over Mitchell.
In a recent interview, Silva reiterated his position: “We`re not friends and we are never going to be. We respect each other as athletes and fighters but that’s it. I don’t like him as a person, the way he behaves… the way he carries himself in general.”

Bryce Mitchell Targets Bantamweight After Loss to Silva
Following his defeat, Bryce Mitchell has been less vocal on social media and is now planning a move down to the bantamweight division (135 lbs). He admitted that facing featherweights (145 lbs) like Jean Silva made him realize they are too big and strong for him.
Mitchell confirmed that the decision to change weight classes was made right after the fight with Silva, specifically mentioning feeling the size and strength difference significantly in the second round. He expressed confidence in competing at 135 lbs and is preparing for his upcoming fight against Said Nurmagomedov on July 26 in Abu Dhabi.
