According to a former UFC lightweight fighter, Colby Covington might be finding it difficult to keep up his `persona`.
Throughout his career, Covington, nicknamed `Chaos`, has become known for his controversial behavior outside of the octagon.
While his wrestling skills in fights are undeniable, he is more famous for his trash talk and provocative statements.
However, engaging in constant verbal battles seems to be becoming tiring for him.
Paul Felder Believes Covington is Struggling with His Persona
Recently, Paddy Pimblett encountered Colby Covington and noted that Covington simply looked down at the floor during their interaction.
Paul Felder suggests this isn`t because Covington is intimidated, but rather because maintaining his `act` is draining him.
Felder mentioned an encounter between Covington and Kamaru Usman where Covington was respectful. He believes Covington`s `MAGA, Mr. America, college bully` persona is fading and that Covington himself is finding it hard to maintain.
Felder added that in reality, Covington has no personal issue with people like Paddy Pimblett and only engages in trash talk to stay relevant.
Felder predicts that Covington will admit it was all an act after retirement and that he is currently struggling to keep up the facade as his career nears its end.
Felder concludes that this is the problem with portraying a personality that isn`t genuine.
UFC Legend Warned Covington Ahead of Sparring Session
Regardless of whether Covington`s persona is fake, it has been effective in getting under the skin of many fighters.
Even training partners have found it challenging to deal with his behavior.
On one occasion, things escalated to the point where a UFC legend threatened to knock Covington out during a heated sparring session.
