A spectator chose the wrong moment to taunt former UFC competitor Alex Nicholson.
An MMA enthusiast received a harsh lesson for heckling Alex Nicholson, a former UFC fighter, immediately following Nicholson`s knockout defeat at XFC 52.
Nicholson and Darion Abbey were the main supporting fight at XFC 52, competing in a highly anticipated heavyweight match. This fight marked Nicholson`s return to MMA after a previous knockout loss to Frank Tate in November.
Despite Nicholson`s known knockout power, demonstrated in past appearances in PFL and UFC, his fight with Abbey did not go according to plan. In the immediate aftermath of his loss, a fan discovered the hard way that provoking a heavyweight fighter after a defeat is unwise.

Alex Nicholson Reacts to Mock Handshake and Insults by Punching Fan Post-KO
Abbey quickly overpowered Nicholson against the cage within seconds. Just over a minute into the fight, Abbey overwhelmed Nicholson with strikes, securing a first-round TKO victory.
This victory was Abbey`s third consecutive win after a prior loss to Tim Johnson. As Nicholson was leaving the cage during Abbey’s post-fight interview, a fan approached him, seemingly offering a congratulatory handshake, but the situation escalated.
Nicholson initially shook the fan`s hand as he was exiting the arena. However, as Nicholson walked away, the fan began to verbally abuse the former UFC fighter, prompting Nicholson to return and engage in a physical altercation.
Whatever the fan said provoked a strong reaction from Nicholson, who charged at him and threw several punches before security intervened.
UFC’s Lerone Murphy Confronted Mocking Fan After Recent Win
Currently, Nicholson has not publicly addressed the incident, and it is unclear if the fan will press charges. Nicholson`s contract status with XFC is also unknown.
Nicholson`s UFC record was 1-3, with a notable knockout victory against Devin Clark in July 2016. He was released from the UFC after subsequent losses to Sam Alvey and Jack Hermansson.
Nicholson is not the only UFC fighter to have altercations with taunting fans after fights. Featherweight contender Lerone Murphy recently confronted a fan after his win over Josh Emmett, but security prevented further escalation.
In a separate incident at a Bare Knuckle FC event in Dubai, a member of Conor McGregor`s security team punched a fan who attempted to attack McGregor. Additionally, McGregor was involved in another altercation at a casino where he spat at a fan who supported Khabib Nurmagomedov.
