Former MMA Star Suggests Two Big Opponents for Conor McGregor’s UFC Return

Sports News

According to a former UFC heavyweight, Conor McGregor might face a significant challenge upon his return, as two potential opponents have been suggested for him.

In his prime, `The Notorious` was a formidable fighter, known for his ability to knock out opponents with devastating strikes.

However, McGregor`s career has struggled recently. He suffered two consecutive losses to Dustin Poirier, and even after defeating Donald Cerrone, he remains a target of mockery from Khabib Nurmagomedov regarding their 2018 bout.

To prove his talent and silence critics, `The Notorious` desperately needs a strong performance in his next fight.

Brendan Schaub Proposes Ilia Topuria or Paddy Pimblett as Opponents for Conor McGregor

Brendan Schaub believes Ilia Topuria and Paddy Pimblett would be ideal opponents for Conor McGregor`s return to the octagon.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Schaub outlined potential scenarios: “We’re all waiting on Islam Makhachev,” Schaub stated. “Because if he decides to stay at 155lbs and fight one more time [after Belal Muhammad won], you could have Makhachev vs. Ilia Topuria in Spain, and then Paddy vs. Conor.”

He added, “Then, if Paddy wins that, he fights the winner [of Makhachev vs Topuria].”

Schaub concluded, “Either way, if it’s Topuria vs. Paddy, Paddy vs. Conor, or Conor vs. Topuria, take my money [I`d pay to see it].”

Michael Chandler Still Eager to Fight Conor McGregor

While Schaub proposed Pimblett or Topuria, Michael Chandler remains keen on finally securing the long-awaited fight against McGregor that he desires.

The two coached opposite each other on `The Ultimate Fighter,` with the expectation that it would lead to a major fight between them.

Unfortunately, the former two-division UFC champion withdrew due to injury.

However, the American fighter has not given up hope, recently reigniting his rivalry with McGregor.
