UFC fans are expressing outrage over several controversial decisions that overshadowed the promotion`s return to London.
On Saturday, UFC`s sixth London event since 2020 saw former welterweight champion Leon Edwards aiming to regain momentum against Sean Brady in the main event.
Fans Denounce `Robbery` as Jai Herbert Loses to Chris Padilla by Decision
Jai Herbert faced Chris Padilla, who entered the fight with two prior UFC finishes.
The first round was cautious, with both lightweights hesitant to engage aggressively.
The second round followed a similar pattern, with Herbert attempting strikes while Padilla sought to clinch.
The third round remained largely passive, though Herbert dictated the pace and initiated exchanges.
Late in the fight, Herbert landed a significant elbow, causing a deep cut above Padilla`s eye.
Despite this, the fight went to the judges, resulting in a split decision victory for Padilla, sparking considerable criticism. Two judges scored it 29-28 for Padilla, while one scored it 29-28 for Herbert.
“Those judges robbed Jai Herbert. Robbed him blind,” commented one fan on X.
“Honestly, should’ve been a draw. Both were equally unimpressive,” added another fan.
Criticism Extends to Other UFC London Scorecards
The Herbert-Padilla decision was not the only one criticized at UFC London.
Earlier, British prospect Nathan Fletcher suffered a controversial defeat to Caolan Loughran.
Later, Tom Aspinall’s teammate, Mick Parkin, experienced his first career loss in a controversial decision against UFC veteran Marcin Tybura.
