CJ Vergara`s time as a UFC fighter has come to an end.
The Flyweight fighter from San Antonio, Texas, competed eight times in the UFC. His last fight was in Mexico City, where the 33-year-old aimed to recover from two previous losses in a match against Edgar Chairez.
Chairez quickly extended Vergara`s losing streak to three. He achieved a first-round submission victory after a strong striking attack, a significant and emotional win for the Mexican fighter.
For Vergara, this fight marked the conclusion of his journey in the UFC.
CJ Vergara Removed from UFC Roster After 8 Fights
On Thursday, UFC Roster Watch reported on X (formerly Twitter) that Vergara had been removed from the UFC roster.
It is currently unclear whether Vergara`s contract expired and was not renewed, or if he was released due to the series of losses.
Vergara joined the UFC in 2021 after competing on Dana White’s Contender Series. He initially had a mixed record of 3 wins and 2 losses in his first five fights. Ultimately, he concluded his UFC career with a 3-5 record, following recent defeats to Asu Almabayev, Ramazan Temirov, and Edgar Chairez.
Notably, Vergara missed weight three times in his eight UFC fights, including once before a bout against the then-undefeated contender Tatsuro Taira.

Vergara gained attention in March 2023 for his fight against Daniel Lacerda, where he notably retreated from his opponent after initially hurting him.
Despite this, Vergara managed to recover and secure a remarkable comeback knockout victory in the second round, finishing Lacerda with ground strikes.
This highlight of his UFC career occurred in his hometown of San Antonio. Vergara earned an extra $50,000 bonus for his performance.
CJ Vergara`s professional record includes 12 wins, with seven of them achieved by knockout.
